Calasetta Mayor Hit with a Pitchfork by a Lavoras Worker

Following an argument with a Lavoras shipyard worker last Friday, Calasetta mayor Antonello Puggioni was reportedly hit with a pitchfork by the man, who has now been suspended from work.

The incident was only made public today by the majority group "Rinascita Calasettana," which, together with Puggioni, manages the island's tourist center. The incident is now the subject of a Carabinieri investigation, sparked by a complaint filed by the mayor.

According to what has emerged, the worst would have been avoided by the people present at the time of the unfortunate episode.

Antonello Puggioni had to seek treatment from emergency room doctors who found several fractures.
