Under the vertical sun of eastern Sardinia, a strip of land protected by silence and toil is today the center of the world . Cala Goloritzè, on the steep coast of Baunei, has conquered first place in the global ranking The World's 50 Best Beaches 2025.
A clear verdict, which does not come by chance: the Sardinian beach has surpassed Polynesia, the Seychelles and tropical Asia in beauty, establishing itself as a planetary symbol of unspoiled nature and conservative rigor.
There are no establishments, no kiosks. No pier, no road. To get there you have to walk two hours among the rocks of Ogliastra or get out of the sea and swim to the shore. And yet, or perhaps for this very reason, Cala Goloritzè has received the highest international recognition: it is the most beautiful beach in the world.
The international organization that manages the ranking The World's 50 Best Beaches announced today, crowning this natural Italian amphitheater as the pinnacle of global seaside beauty.
"A wild beauty that thrills at first sight", we read in the motivations: a landscape that strikes with the force of the first silence.
What makes it unique is not only its aesthetics, but also its environmental ethics. Declared a natural monument in 1995, Cala Goloritzè is today an example of conservative management : boats cannot approach, the flows are regulated, nature has a voice.
In the background, the 143-metre-high limestone pinnacle, a destination for European climbers, stands guard like a thousand-year-old buttress.

But Sardinia doesn't stop at first place: in the same ranking also appears La Pelosa, in Stintino (Sassari), in 50th place. A stretch of very light sand, immersed in still and turquoise waters, with the unmistakable shape of the sixteenth-century tower that acts as a sentinel.
Two Sardinian beaches among the top fifty in the world — and not just any two. Two opposite and complementary symbols of a beauty that cannot be sold, but defended .
Cala Goloritzè is first today. But it is the idea of the Sardinian landscape, rigorous and wild, that wins.
