After weeks of closure for safety reasons, Via Giovanni Porcell has reopened to traffic. The street had been closed to traffic after debris fell from the University wall, which was deemed unsafe enough to impede traffic.

The road is scheduled to reopen at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 22, and the traffic management order of March 9, 2026, will be revoked.

This is established by the ordinance signed by the director of the Mobility, Road Infrastructure and Networks Service, following the University of Cagliari's announcement regarding the completion of safety measures on the retaining wall of the Biological Institutes.
