Following the agreement on the concession fee , reached at the City Council meeting on Wednesday morning, Cagliari Calcio immediately moved to advance the process for the new stadium . The Rossoblu club submitted the Economic and Financial Plan for the new stadium this evening . It is the new, updated version, as required by the agreements with the municipal administration.

The final issue, the fee , was resolved with an agreement of €150,000 per year . The next step will be a vote on the public interest by the City Council, which will then lead to the international public tender process. This will be done as quickly as possible because UEFA's commitments must be met: a tender in June, with construction starting in 2027 .

With the aim of completing them by 2031. Cagliari's candidacy for the 2032 European Championships is also up for grabs: with the new stadium, it could be one of the venues for the continental competition.
