A decisive step toward the new Cagliari stadium. "This is the most significant private investment with public participation in the city's history," Sports Councilor Giuseppe Macciotta said in the Chamber, emphasizing that at the end of the concession period , the stadium will become part of the city's assets.

The vote came after a heated debate, with the opposition, while in favor of building the new stadium, challenging the economic and financial plan and the agreement, deeming the guarantees to protect the public interest insufficient.

"We don't have to decide whether or not to build the new stadium; it's clear that the new facility represents a strategic infrastructure," says Giuseppe Farris, minority councilor for Civica 2024. "We have to decide whether the agreement that will bind the Municipality for fifty years truly reflects the public interest."

"I am fully aware of the expertise of the people working in the municipal offices and those outside the administration who have been following the operation over the past few months," assures Mayor Massimo Zedda. "Thanks to their work, many doubts have been resolved, which also arose as a result of often unclear regulations.
