A "serious disservice" with "very serious consequences" for the businesses in the neighborhood, denounces the provincial Confesercenti of Cagliari , which expresses strong concern, recalling that the district represents "one of the main commercial and tourist centers of the city".

«Precisely at this crucial moment, dozens of businesses have found themselves unable to operate» , comments Pamela Solinas, FIEPET Coordinator of the Provincial Confesercenti of Cagliari. «Numerous restaurateurs have been forced to suspend service and close their premises, with
unavoidable economic losses due to cancellations of reservations, interruption of business
work and the impossibility of guaranteeing customer service."

A prolonged blackout has also put several operators at risk of losing large quantities of goods stored in refrigerators and freezers : "This is significant economic damage," emphasizes the association's president Marco Medda, recalling that "in addition to direct losses, we must consider the lost revenue, the inconvenience caused to customers, the costs of restoring operations, and the damage to their reputation."

Confesercenti is calling for structural solutions to ensure the grid remains stable even during periods of peak demand, because "it is unacceptable that a neighborhood that is strategic to the city's economy can remain without electricity for such a prolonged period , precisely during the peak commercial and tourist season."
