In the municipality of Pirri, Via dei Partigiani is becoming a "school street." The Municipality of Cagliari has completed the first redevelopment project on the street, which has been pedestrianized along with a short stretch of Via Marzabotto.

"The area will become a school street, a pedestrian space returned to children, families, and citizens," the administration announced, "designed to ensure greater safety in daily travel, encourage active mobility, and improve the quality of public space: the primary and secondary schools of the Pirri comprehensive institute overlook it."

The new space is also characterized by the color of the flooring, with the seven colors of the rainbow as a reference to the universal symbol of peace . This choice recalls Cagliari's recognition as the "City of Peace and Dialogue in the Mediterranean."

An initial resurfacing project covering approximately 200 square meters was completed, removing the asphalt and expanding the permeable surfaces around the trees. "This project will encourage more balanced root development, improve rainwater absorption, and help mitigate surface temperatures during the warmer months, making the urban space more comfortable."

Access to the internal parking lots of private areas "remains fully guaranteed thanks to the introduction of two-way traffic on the affected section of Via Marzabotto. Although it is a pedestrian area, the road maintains the necessary characteristics to allow the passage of emergency vehicles at all times."

"The new Via dei Partigiani is a space returned to the city," underlined Councilor Yuri Marcialis , Councilor Giulia Andreozzi , and the President of the Municipality of Pirri , Maria Laura Manca : "For it to fully express its value and quality, it will be important that it is used and respected by everyone, preserving its function as a welcoming, safe place dedicated to children."
