"The NRRP funds are demonstrating that when resources are allocated directly to municipalities, they have greater implementation and spending capacity than all other entities. Cagliari is managing 24 projects totaling €133.812 million, the majority of which concern renewable energy, hydrogen, networks, and sustainable mobility." Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda stated this in a social media post.

"With one year to go until the NRRP expires, there's a lot of work to do, but several projects have been completed, particularly in the area of digitalization. Those on cybersecurity, urban reforestation, and electricity conversion are well underway."

CTM will have an 80% electric fleet by 2026, with the goal of 100% by 2030. "Work is also underway at the Riva nursery school and the school on Via Stoccolma," Zedda continues, "while greenways, riverbank restoration, and dredging of the Terramaini canal are being designed, which will eventually create a waterway navigable by electric boats (this latter project is being led by the Metropolitan City)."

The mayor thanked the ANCI, saying, "Municipalities stand out as virtuous models of planning, management, and spending. At the same time, greater simplification of procedures and strengthening of administrative staff are urgently needed."
