Three, maybe four. That's how many Sardinian youths surrounded and punched and kicked a young foreigner in Piazza Yenne last night: a brutal beating that was only stopped by the chance passing of a traffic police patrol.

Few details have emerged regarding yet another episode of violence that occurred over the weekend in Cagliari's historic center.

According to currently available information, the violence erupted around 4 a.m., when all the bars were already closed. The group of Cagliari residents kicked and punched the victim, who was saved by a passing police car, which forced the group to flee.

The young foreigner was rescued by an ambulance: he suffered various wounds and injuries but his life is not in danger.

More bloodshed, therefore, on the eve of the arrival in the city of Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi, who will chair a meeting of the Committee for Public Order and Security at the Prefecture tomorrow.
