In the early hours of the night , the Carabinieri of the Cagliari-Villanova station arrested a 27-year-old unemployed local man, with no criminal record, for the crime of domestic abuse.

The intervention came after a cry for help from two young women, stepsisters of the 27-year-old, who had each taken refuge in their bedrooms to escape yet another outbreak of domestic violence.

The young women, a 30-year-old office worker and a 24-year-old student, both residents of the home in the Villanova neighborhood, told the officers that the man, in a fit of rage, had destroyed a chair and thrown objects and furnishings throughout the house.

During the operation, the soldiers also found an iron bar and an oriental-style cutting weapon (“shuriken”) in the arrested man's room, both of which were seized.

The women, taken to the police station, filed a complaint, declaring that for over two years—since March 2023—they have been subjected to threats and psychological and physical violence from their stepbrother.

Following the formal investigation, the man was arrested and taken to prison in Uta, as ordered by the competent judicial authority.
