Work is currently underway in Cagliari to replace an old 50-meter pipeline on Via Bosa, in the section opposite Piazza Garibaldi, between Via Bacaredda and Via Macomer . Several breaks had been reported in the old pipeline in recent days.
The new pipeline will be made of ductile iron, a material that ensures better sealing. To avoid further disruptions, it was decided to carry out the emergency intervention and complete the work today. Until the completion of the work, expected in the late afternoon, pressure drops and temporary interruptions to the water supply will occur on Via Bosa and Via Macomer.
The replacement of this pipeline was already scheduled. This is the completion of the contract which, in the same area, involved several streets in the Villanova neighborhood .
A total of 1.2 kilometers of pipes, including mains and utility connections, have been replaced. A total of eight streets have already been repaired: Via Einaudi, Via Orlando, Via Abba, Via Oristano, and Via Iglesias in the Sonnino district, and Via Ozieri, Via Macomer, and Via Tempio in the San Vincenzo Medio district. The complete replacement of the Via Bosa pipeline completes the "ring" of this district.
