Cagliari, waiting for the New Year's Eve stage, zero tolerance: cars towed away

Cagliari's local police force applied zero tolerance to drivers who, last night, parked in the blue lines beneath the statue of Carlo Felice in the rain . All cars were fined and towed away. Parking restrictions have been posted throughout the area in anticipation of Cagliari's New Year's Eve events. Specifically, the stage that will host the artists on the 31st will be set up in the upper part of the square.
The cars were towed away "in accordance with the law," but many, not just the "victims," pointed out that, given that it was a rainy evening and that the work wasn't scheduled to begin until this morning, a fine would have been more than sufficient. Opinions are divided, as always. But sometimes, common sense helps.
