Cagliari, Via XX Settembre closed for roadworks: traffic disruptions
Queues and slowdowns were recorded in particular between Via Sonnino and Viale Diaz, where work on the metro continuesThe work will have to wait until Friday to be completed. Meanwhile, the temporary closure of Via XX Settembre in Cagliari continues to cause traffic disruption in the city center.
The road has been closed since June 12th – by municipal order – to allow for resurfacing work. During construction, only buses, emergency vehicles, firefighters, and law enforcement vehicles will be allowed to pass, as well as authorized vehicles for loading and unloading goods and accessing driveways.
Traffic jams and delays were particularly severe between Via Sonnino and Viale Diaz, where metro construction continues, resulting in a narrowing of the roadway. Traffic disruptions also occurred at the roundabout connecting Via Roma with Via XX Settembre and Viale Regina Margherita.
