Don Marco Lai, director of the diocesan Caritas, emphasized that welcoming people is the first step toward a true recovery: "The data shows that 35 percent of those who enter these programs are then able to reintegrate into society ." Also crucial is the support of the Municipality of Cagliari, represented by Councilor Anna Puddu, who highlighted the investment of over €4 million to manage the city's network of 140 places, in addition to the new 18 on Via Malta.
