From one of the main promenades of Cagliari , in the sixties and seventies, to today's decline, between crisis and closures. Via Dante is at the center of a plan for its rebirth, presented by the mayor Paolo Truzzu and contained in the National Operational Program (Pon) for Metropolitan Cities 2014-2020. The redevelopment will affect in particular the portion from Piazza Repubblica to Piazza Giovanni XXIII , for a length of approximately 1,100 meters and a total amount of 1,270,000 euros.

"An intervention that will mainly concern the arrangement of the pedestrian cycle part, using the resources we had available for the cycle paths - explained the mayor - Works that have been waiting for some time, many years after the last intervention on this important city artery ".

Among the interventions, the widening of the sidewalks for the insertion of the cycle path . "We want to return to this street the destination it had in the past - underlined the councilor for traffic, Alessio Mereu - a walk and a place for socializing. Better sidewalks, with the inclusion of the cycle path that will thus be made safe. it will also allow the passage of scooters which today constitute a widespread system of sustainable mobility ".

And, again, works for public parks , the remaking of horizontal and vertical signs and the elimination of architectural barriers. Particular attention is paid to the parking islands of public transport to facilitate access in complete autonomy and ensure safe access to the sidewalk.

The pedestrian crossings will be made with colored resin to facilitate the crossing of the visually impaired.
