"This award is a sign of trust. Not for me, but for a work that has been going on for years, together with many people who make Domus de Luna today. It means that even being close to those who are fragile, every day, with commitment, over time can make a difference". Ugo Bressanello said this this morning, on the sidelines of the La Marmora Award ceremony, in the Aula Magna of the Rectorate of the University of Cagliari.
The prestigious award, now in its XXXIV edition, is promoted by the Rotary Clubs of Cagliari, Cagliari Est, Nord, Sud and Anfiteatro and is given every year to personalities who, despite not being Sardinian, have enhanced the Island with their commitment. The commission awarded Bressanello "for having promoted in the national territory, through the initiatives of the Domus de Luna Foundation, an image of Sardinia that is supportive and attentive to the most fragile and needy people" .
From the first community for minors Casa delle Stelle, founded in 2005, to the WWF Oasis of Cervo e della Luna and the Fattoria Molto Sociale, passing through restaurants, educational projects, family centers and autonomy paths for young people and mothers, the Domus de Luna network is today a recognized example of an integrated social enterprise, with over 350 people permanently involved in work, volunteering and training .
During the ceremony, Bressanello received the bronze plaque depicting the outline of the Island and the profile of General Alberto Ferrero Della Marmora , a symbol of knowledge and dedication to Sardinia. An award that celebrates a vision, that of a Sardinia that, focusing on caring for people, builds its own tomorrow.
