From announcements to silence. "Everything seems mysteriously slowed down" regarding Cagliari's new stadium. This is according to opposition city councilor Giuseppe Farris (Civica 2024), who reviews the project's progress over the past three months.

"Since April 1st, you've been telling us everything was fine. Imminent. Now, suddenly, silence, caution, and investigations. On June 3rd," Farris states, "the mayor, on the sidelines of the awarding of honorary citizenship to the great Claudio Ranieri, spoke of 'investigations underway.'" On June 5th, President Giulini, speaking from Parma at the Serie A festival panel, used cautious tones and described a still complex economic and financial process. In the meantime, everything seems mysteriously slowed down ."

Why, he asks, if until yesterday everything seemed ready, is there suddenly a need for checks, further investigations, and caution? Why are we spending around €230,000 on consultancy? I want to be clear: Cagliari deserves a new stadium. But it also deserves transparency. Because when we're talking about a project that will shape the city for decades, citizens have a right to fully understand the terms, numbers, and cost-effectiveness of the operation. Sometimes, when a project suddenly disappears from the radar, a question arises: was it reported too quickly?
