In a few days he carried out two robberies, attacked a disabled person, beaten and threatened a 50-year-old with a knife. Now the investigators of the Flying Squad and the policemen of the Volante have given a name and a face to the criminal who acted on November 19 and 21. This is the 32-year-old Senegalese Oumar Mbaye, already known to the police and the recipient of an expulsion decree signed by the Quaestor of Nuoro in July.
Subjected to arrest, he was taken to prison in Uta.
The first episode occurred around 11pm on November 19 in Piazza del Carmine. The 32-year-old robbed a disabled 50-year-old whose wallet was stolen by two foreigners shortly before. The victim asked Mbaye for help: "They robbed me, do you know these two?", She said, showing him her cell phone. At that point the Senegalese attacked him and took his mobile phone away.
The 50-year-old, who had already been robbed by Mbaye himself a year earlier, in an attempt to recover his smartphone, had sought information among the people of the area, discovering that the 32-year-old lived in a building in via Riva di Ponente. So he went to him but was beaten. After a few hours he filed a complaint.
Two days later the foreigner threatened a 50-year-old who was looking for an ATM in Largo Carlo Felice with a knife, forced him to withdraw a few hundred euros and hand him the money. Grabbed the money, he fled. In short it was identified: it was se mpre Mbaye. The investigators of the Mobile and the agents of the Volante later discovered that in February 2020 he had already robbed the disabled person, taking away a necklace, and had been denounced by the carabinieri. They tracked him down and arrested him before he could leave the city as he does not have a residence but gravitates between Cagliari, Nuoro and Brescia.
