A new record for the Cagliari industrial port: the largest ship ever to dock at Porto Canale arrived today.
With a length of 399 meters, a width of 54 meters and a cargo capacity of 16,652 TEU, MSC Venice docks at the MITO (Mediterranean Intermodal Terminal Operator) terminal in Sardinia, the Grendi Group's international terminal where approximately 3,600 container loading and unloading movements are scheduled.
"MITO's business has grown steadily over the years, as demonstrated by the organization of this operation. Specifically, in the first six months of this year, LoLo movements totaled 39,921, equal to 67,865 TEUs, in addition to RoRo movements for connections to North Africa totaling 28,462 TEUs. Over 96,000 TEUs in total as of June 30, 2025, representing a significant increase compared to the 62,205 TEUs in 2024 (+55%)," commented Antonio Musso, CEO of the Grendi Group.
"We want to continue investing in business development, and that's why we've requested a twenty-year concession."
