Piazza degli Arcipelago, where Marina Piccola gives way to the first stop of Poetto, offers such a thrill now that construction is almost complete and the space feels full. "The opening is at the end of the month," the city council announced.

The construction site wasn't a quick one. It was October 2023 when then-mayor Paolo Truzzu presented the €2,999,839.84 project, to be precise down to the last cent.

The public interest is twofold, connecting the recent past with the future. Because Piazza degli Arcipelago completes Massimo Zedda's redevelopment, which removed cars from Poetto since 2015.
