After crossing the Tyrrhenian Sea and reaching Nuoro, the Olympic Flame for the Milan-Cortina Winter Games will stop in Cagliari. The event is scheduled for Sunday, December 14, 2025, with the city route from Poetto to Via Roma.

Dalia Kaddari, Giulia Stagno, and Francesca Zucca will bring up the rear of the torchbearers in the final kilometer. The brazier will then be lit on the stage specially built for the occasion.

This morning in Cagliari, the press conference presenting the event took place, with the athletes welcomed into the Council Chamber (Francesca Zucca was connected remotely) by Sports Councillor Giuseppe Macciotta, City Council President Marco Benucci, and Sports Commission President Michele Boero.

From the start on December 6th in the capital until arriving in Milan on February 5th, there will be a total of 60 stages involving 501 torchbearers from north to south of Italy.

"This is an event," commented Councilor Macciotta, "that the city of Cagliari holds particularly dear because the passage of the Olympic flame embodies all the fundamental and noblest values of sport, both at the competitive and amateur levels, but above all, it takes on a precious dimension in terms of inclusivity."

THE PROGRAM – The event will kick off at 2:30 pm, simultaneously from Poetto, where the first torchbearer will set off, and on the stage set up in Via Roma. After the institutional greetings, there will be time for the City Celebration, featuring the presentation of sports, recreational, and inclusive activities organized by the administration in collaboration with its partners.

Also contributing were the Millesport team led by Andrea Siddi, Cagliari Calcio with its Casteddu for Special project, and BeAsOne illustrated by Elisabetta Scorcu. Also present were Mario Fadda, the regional delegate for Italian Sports History, and illustrator Alice Rogeri, who presented the temporary exhibition dedicated to winter sports in Sardinia, set up in the Retablo room.
