And there's still some controversy surrounding a 2023 meeting: the problem had emerged, but was it decided to speed things up to avoid losing funding?Following the inauguration, a year and a half ago, of the new promenade on Via Roma in Cagliari, a controversial issue emerged: the gas network that was supposed to be built right in the newly redeveloped area forced a new construction site to open, narrowing the roadway on the port side and also affecting part of the recently remodeled gardens.
In the city council, Mayor Massimo Zedda spoke of a legacy from the past and accused previous governments of failing to foresee the problem.
In the background, there was a rumor about a technical meeting in 2023 between the Municipality and ARST technicians, where the problem would have emerged, but it would have been decided to move forward so as not to lose the funding.
The fear now is that some of the recently completed works will be affected again, causing further traffic disruption and a bitter political clash in the City Council.
