Roundabouts in the most critical streets with the highest traffic density. In Viale Poetto and in front of Piazza Matteotti, definitely, in Via Roma, maybe, in Piazza D'Armi, soon, therefore better vertical and horizontal signs and more lighting to protect pedestrians, the category at risk. It's not over: surprise speed cameras, the orange columns, which sometimes will fine, sometimes not, which will have the purpose of acting as a deterrent against speeding in the most dangerous streets (Asse mediano, Viale Ferrara, Viale Colombo, to name a few).

The Municipality is moving to try to make the traffic in the city less chaotic and, at the same time, improve road safety and remove the black jersey of the city of over a thousand accidents a year. "Some solutions are still being studied", via Roma, for example, "others have already been decided", explains the councilor for Roads Yuri Marcialis.

The detail

In via Roma, explains councilor Marcialis, «some roundabouts will help. One near the exit from the port. The other between piazza Amendola and the intersection of via XX Settembre with viale Diaz, will be a delicate intervention and is strictly linked to the completion of the subway route. In addition, two roundabouts are planned around piazza Matteotti, we will program them when the work on via Roma is finished».

Piazza d'Armi: a roundabout is planned that will ease traffic in the entire area (in Viale San Vincenzo, in Via Is Mirrionis, in Viale Merello).

In Viale Poetto, however, one at the intersection with Via Tramontana (where just three months ago a fatal accident occurred) and Via Vergine di Lluc.
