Increased controls and increased security in clubs following the New Year's Eve massacre in Crans-Montana. This was the main focus of this morning's meeting at the Cagliari Prefecture headquarters in Piazza Palazzo.

Law enforcement officers, local officials—including Cagliari Mayor Massimo Zedda and Iglesias Mayor Mauro Usai —and trade associations attended the meeting with Prefect Paola Dessì. "We will implement more checks to ensure safer leisure activities," the prefect stated.

The goal is to prevent incidents like those that occurred in Switzerland, although it has been repeatedly stated that "safety regulations in Italy are different." There will be no new rules or bans, but more checks to ensure compliance.

The meeting also discussed general security in the city center, with Prefect Paola Dessì emphasizing the importance of collaboration between merchants and law enforcement.
