Double homicide on Via Ghibli: Gulisano: "I didn't kill my parents."
The forty-four-year-old makes spontaneous statements during the first hearing of the trialThe trial of Claudio Gulisano, 44, has begun in the Assize Court in Cagliari. He is accused of the murder of his parents, his father, Luigi, 79, and his mother, Marisa Dessì, 82, killed on December 4, 2024, in their apartment on Via Ghibli, in the Sole district of Cagliari.
The defendant appeared in court escorted by prison police, accompanied by his lawyer, Luigi Sanna. He gave spontaneous statements. "I've never done it," he began. Then he added, in one breath: "First of all, I didn't kill my parents."
According to the reconstruction of the Prosecutor's Office, supported by Public Prosecutor Rosanna Allieri, Gulisano is responsible for the crime committed for financial reasons.
At the opening of the hearing, the defense challenged the method of conducting part of the expert report by experts Rita Celli (a forensic pathologist at the University of Turin) and Claudio Medana (a toxicologist at the same university). Attorney Sanna disputed its admissibility. According to the prosecution, the defendant first suffocated his mother with the scarf she was wearing around her neck, then waited several hours for his father to return, who had gone out for his usual morning walk. At that point, he also killed him through so-called "soft asphyxiation," by pressing his face against the armrest of a chair or using a pillow.
The 44-year-old is also accused of computer fraud: he allegedly withdrew €20,000 from his parents' accounts using their online banking platform. His brother and most of the couple's family have filed civil suits, with their interests being represented by lawyer Gianluca Aste.
