New connection between Austria and Sardinia . The flight from Salzburg, inaugurating the first ever scheduled connection between the Austrian city and the Sardinian capital, landed in Cagliari this morning around 8:00 a.m.
To celebrate this debut, passengers on the inaugural flight were welcomed with gifts containing Sardinian artistic handicrafts, an expression of the island's traditions and cultural identity.
The new Cagliari-Salzburg route will be operated exclusively by Eurowings this summer on a weekly basis, every Saturday until October 24.
This brings the number of destinations served by the German airline of the Lufthansa Group from the main Sardinian airport to 4: in addition to the new Salzburg, the Summer 2026 timetable confirms flights to and from Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Stuttgart.
