A three-month-old baby, in imminent danger of death, was transferred this afternoon from Cagliari to Rome aboard a Gulfstream G-650 aircraft of the 31st Wing of the Italian Air Force, for emergency hospitalization at the Gemelli Polyclinic.

"The flight," a statement explains, "requested by the Prefecture of Cagliari, was authorized and coordinated by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which manages the operational missions of the state fleet, to allow the newborn's immediate admission to the Gemelli Hospital in Rome. The aircraft took off from Cagliari Elmas Airport at 3:00 PM."

A medical team from Cagliari's Casula Hospital took over the flight, ensuring continuous monitoring and medical care throughout the flight. The infant landed at Rome Ciampino Airport at 3:40 PM. Once on the ground, the newborn was promptly handed over to the medical staff aboard an ambulance for subsequent transfer to the Gemelli Polyclinic.
