Cagliari, "Let's Protect the Sea": two days of reflection and discussion

"Let's Protect the Sea" is the title of the event scheduled for today and tomorrow in Cagliari. It is organized by the Italian Episcopal Conference and the Apostleship of the Sea. Today at 5 pm, in the conference room of Sa Manifattura, there will be a meeting introduced by the vicar general, Monsignor Ferdinando Caschili, by the mayor Massimo Zedda, by Alessandra Todde , president of the Region and by the prefect Giuseppe Castaldo.
This will be followed by presentations by Sandro Demuro , marine geologist, and Father Bruno Bignami , director of the CEI's national office for social issues and labor, entitled "The Pastoral Care of the Church and the Sea." This will be followed by a roundtable discussion with Piero Bianco (Stella Maris Cagliari), Giovanni Stella (president of the seafarers' welfare committee), Luisa Giua Marass , municipal councilor for urban ecology and the environment, Maria Julia Fernandez Manca of the Grimaldi Group, and Giuseppe La Rosa of the Lega Navale.
Tomorrow at 9:00 a.m., the fishing pier, the fishermen, and their families will be blessed, and at 11:30 a.m., Mass will be celebrated in the Basilica of Bonaria, presided over by Archbishop Giuseppe Baturi, Secretary General of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI).
