Cagliari, ProPal march at Poetto: "We remind those on the beach that the genocide continues."
Protests on the beach and at the airport: "Soldiers coming on vacation must stop."A march on the shoreline of Poetto, in Cagliari, carrying Palestinian flags was organized by the Sardinian Committee of Solidarity for Palestine against Israel's attacks on Gaza.
"It's part of the protests," explains Rosalba Meloni, representing the Cagliari Social Forum and the committee itself, "which are divided between Poetto and the airport. We find it absurd that Israeli soldiers, who recharge their batteries on our island before returning to attack Palestine, continue to spend their holidays here . Some passengers, evidently having heard of our welcome, responded to our Palestinian flags by displaying Israeli flags. We understand that the State is not taking a stand; we are asking the Region to do so."
Many, Meloni adds, "are asking us for information: we want to remind people, even those on the beach, that the genocide continues."
