On the gate a black ribbon, as a sign of mourning . In Cagliari, the primary school in via Stockholma is thus preparing to face the start of the new school year. But the building, unusable for some time, will remain closed. On Monday at 8.15am, when the bell rings in all schools after the summer holidays, silence will reign in the building.

"It is a symbolic gesture for the death of the primary school," explains Pino Aquila, parent of a student at the comprehensive school. Among the families there is only discontent and protest: «I ask for maximum participation from parents, students, teachers, ATA staff and ordinary citizens, to support me in this civil form of disappointment for the unfortunate situation», concludes Aquila.

The last possibility of attending lessons without alternative locations vanished after the Civil Protection warned the Municipality : it will take six working days to pitch the tents, which will temporarily replace the classrooms.
