Change at the helm of the Prefecture of Cagliari.
Giuseppe Castaldo has been transferred to another position : the Council of Ministers has appointed him Commissioner for the coordination of solidarity initiatives for victims of mafia-related and intentional violent crimes.
In her place, the Council of Ministers appointed Paola Dessì—born in Cagliari in 1959—who is being transferred from Taranto. She previously served as Prefect of Sassari, and from August 2017, as Deputy Prefect and Coordinator at the Prefecture of Oristano.
At the same meeting, the Executive also made other changes and substitutions in other Italian cities: Ernesto Liguori, who was in Frosinone, becomes Prefect of Taranto, where Giuseppe Ranieri, arriving from Ragusa, is appointed. He is replaced by Tania Giallongo.
Luigi Carnevale becomes prefect of Pescara, and in his place in Brindisi Guido Aprea, coming from Massa Carrara, has been appointed, where Gaetano Cupello now becomes prefect, thus leaving Chieti.
Silvana D'Agostino arrives in Chieti, and Flavia Anania is appointed prefect of Barletta-Andria-Trani in her place.
Cristina Favilli is transferred from Matera to Lucca. In Matera, Maria Carolina Ippolito, who was transferred from Enna, is approved, and Ignazio Portelli, previously State Commissioner for the Sicilian Region, becomes prefect, a position now held by Stefano Gambacurta. The prefect in L'Aquila also changes, with Vito Cusumano appointed.
