Breast surgery on August 23 for infiltrating second-degree carcinoma, still awaiting histological report. This is the story of Anna, fictitious name, 49 years old, employee, two children.

It all started on May 9th with a routine mammogram. Anna had nothing, no symptoms, and she didn't notice anything strange when she palpated her. Her age pushed her to undergo the exam, which she did in a private facility in Cagliari. The mammogram revealed a mass. A histological exam was needed to dispel any doubts.

The woman confidently turns to the Policlinico di Monserrato , where she will be followed throughout the course of the disease. After a long wait, on June 4, Anna discovers from the doctor that the blood sample was taken badly, it must be repeated.

It's June 25th. Time passes and an MRI confirms that the tumor has grown, but without the histological report the machine stops: the operation (which could have been done at the end of July) is cancelled. The results of the second test arrive only on August 6th, the operation is performed on August 23rd.

To this day, Anna does not know how the operation went, nor if and what treatment she needs.
