The municipal offices will be open for a special period on Saturday, November 29th, to issue and renew electrical identity cards (CIE) without an appointment.
The City Hall announced this in a statement, explaining: " The service is reserved for Cagliari residents. The available desks, open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, will be located at the Registry Office, Piazza De Gasperi 2; at City Office 4, Via Castiglione 1; at City Office 5, Via Carta Raspi 2; and at the Municipality of Pirri, Via Riva Villasanta 35."
To apply for an electronic identity card, you need a recent passport photo, no older than 6 months, a paper identity card (regardless of the expiration date indicated on the document), or an expired or damaged CIE. In the event of theft or loss of the previous card (even if expired), you will need the original police report and another form of identification. For minors, parental consent to travel abroad is required . If a parent is unable to attend, consent can be provided via a signed form with a copy of their identity document attached.
For minors who are children of a widowed or single-parent family, only the signature of the person exercising parental authority is required. The cost of the CIE is €22.22 if you have a paper identity card or an expired or expiring CIE (it can be renewed up to 180 days before expiration) and €27.38 if a CIE is issued due to theft, loss, or deterioration . Payment can be made in cash or via PagoPA: the latter transaction must be completed at least 48 hours before the card is issued. Currently, payment by debit card is not possible. The Electronic Identity Card is delivered within six business days by the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato.
