The Cagliari City Council has approved the 2025/2027 Budget, continuing the path undertaken with the Single Programming Document (Dup). A 502 million euro maneuver for next year.
Mayor Massimo Zedda expressed satisfaction with the result achieved, underlining the joint work of all the components of the Council: "I thank, once again, the joint work of the majority and opposition, of the president of the Budget Commission, Giovanni Porrà, and of the municipal offices. This allows us to proceed more quickly in reaching the goal of spending European resources, equal to 20% by 2025 , so as to aspire to obtain a bonus. Additional resources, approximately 33 million, will be allocated to the development of the city ".
The approved financial plan, with a total value of 502 million for 2025, of which 261 for current expenditure, provides for a gradual reduction in resources in the following years: 484 million in 2026 (257 million for current expenditure) and 457 million in 2027 (256 for current expenditure).
«Despite the cut imposed by the State, the so-called contribution to public finances which involves a reduction of approximately 1.3 million euros in current expenditure in 2025, the Budget does not foresee any increase in taxes for the citizens of Cagliari», Zedda pointed out.
The budget also includes significant resources in current expenditure, approximately 2 million for social policies and support for people with fragility, socioeconomic need or at risk of marginalization, as well as for initiatives for the prevention and promotion of social well-being. (ANSA).
