An eight-year-old boy was hit and transported to Brotzu in red code, but his life was not in danger.

These are the few certainties, so far, on the episode that occurred this evening in via Quirra, in the Is Mirrionis neighborhood of Cagliari, which the Carabinieri of the Sant'Avendrace station are investigating.

According to the father's story, the child was hit by a car that then drove away: the parent was unable to provide the military with further information on the type of vehicle and its color.

He said he loaded the child into his car and rushed him to the nearby Santissima Trinità hospital. From there he was transferred to the Brotzu pediatric emergency room where the child, who was conscious in the meantime, underwent a CT scan.
