Tense moments erupted today on Via Lunigiana in Cagliari's San Michele neighborhood, where a man armed with two knives barricaded himself in an apartment.

The report was made when some local residents saw the man on the balcony with two knives. He had likely just had an argument with someone at home, but when the Flying Squad officers arrived, he was the only one in the house. He didn't open the door. After negotiating with the officers and throwing a knife from the balcony, the man opened the door and was taken to the Santissima Trinità hospital.

The situation is now under control.
