The tram of dreams has everything except carriages. The double tracks between Piazza Repubblica and San Saturnino have been decommissioned. That space, free of cars, has become an excellent bike path, a space for runners, and a dog toilet.

The new Repubblica-San Saturnino line (just 300 meters) is a paradoxical situation. The work was completed last fall, but due to bureaucratic reasons, inspections, permits, and other paperwork, there's no sign of a subway (or perhaps it's better to call it a tram). On the other hand, the infamous metal barriers appear on the stretch between the old ARST station, the Juvenile Court, and the oxygen camps.

The cleaners are trying to keep the space tidy. But it's no easy task. In what's still a construction site with dangling cables, it's easy to find bottles, paper, and weeds that, despite the dry season, are thriving.
