He stole an elderly woman's purse and fled in an attempt to disappear. However, the Carabinieri stopped and arrested him after a brief chase. It happened last night in Piazza del Carmine , Cagliari , where officers from the Cagliari Provincial Command's Mobile Radio Unit arrested a 28-year-old Algerian man, already known to the police, red-handed.
The Carabinieri intervened after the young man was spotted fleeing on foot . Moments earlier, according to the reconstruction, the man had approached an elderly woman and managed to steal her purse.

The officers responded immediately, pursuing the suspect. After a short distance, they managed to catch up with him and safely detain him. The stolen goods were then returned to the elderly woman.
