The Cagliari Local Health Authority (ASL) union representatives have declared a state of unrest: they're fighting over resources available for collective bargaining and over "ready availability and working hours."

The protest also focused on meal vouchers for 2025 and 2026 and - these are the reasons for the mobilization indicated by the unions in a press conference at the Marino Hospital - " significant delays in the payment of additional services , in reimbursements for training courses and the failure to adjust the overtime rates".

"Despite continued assurances of commitment to launching company-wide collective bargaining, the company has failed to begin negotiations on the annual collective bargaining agreements expected by all ASL 8 workers," a statement from the union's union representative reads.

The RSU emphasizes that currently, healthcare, technical, administrative, and social-healthcare staff continue to provide all services. "We point out," the unions continue, "that the chronic staff shortage, inherited from the previous management, is compounded by an inappropriate and inconsiderate assessment of human resources to be assigned to hospital, community, and service facilities , effectively creating ongoing difficulties for those services and sectors where the workload is physiologically high. This is exacerbated at this particular time by the growing population beyond the prison population, with the increase in inmates at Uta prison (see Article 41bis)."
