The cold has arrived and for the fourth year children of the "Satta" primary school in via Angioy in Cagliari , lessons are becoming an odyssey. In fact, the heating does not work , as Maria Caterina Scuda, mother of a pupil and class representative explains: «On behalf of the parents, I would like to point out the conditions in which the children have been forced to take lessons for about two months. The classroom that had been assigned was already used in the previous school year and had a serious structural problem: a large infiltration of water in the perimeter wall which over time has visibly extended and led to the failure of part of the surface coating . The latter fell on the students' desks, fortunately without leading to much more serious consequences. No rubble or bricks have fallen, the part of the whitewashing has crumbled together with a large quantity of dust and sand».
It was therefore necessary to transfer the class to another space, which however, according to the parents, would not be suitable for hosting the children, especially in the winter months. «They were moved to a classroom previously used as a meeting room - continues Scuda - which unfortunately lacks some standards required by legislation for the health and safety of children and teachers but above all the heating is not adequate and this take the pupils to class with coats and gloves on. The radiators cannot be turned on because they are adjacent to electronic devices or because they are not working».
Parents make a heartfelt appeal to Mayor Paolo Truzzu and the Municipality : "Intervene promptly to allow children and teachers to be able to return safely to their classrooms".
