It was 2021, and Jovanotti Park on Via Borgo Sant'Elia was inaugurated with great anticipation. It was intended to be a hub for neighborhood residents, a place for relaxation and socializing. Looking at it today, however, it's anything but: neglect reigns.

Some local residents report the "state of degradation" of the green space . "The grass is dry and unkempt," they explain, "there's trash like paper and beer bottles because there's only one trash can, and every evening there's a lot of noise from two people who sleep next to the children's playground."

Some people claim to have found a condom inside one of the games. Some residents claim the games aren't very safe: "There are loose bolts and the slide moves dangerously."

But what's causing many locals to frown is that the park is accessible to anyone, even at night, because part of the fence is missing, stolen by vandals a few years ago and never replaced: "Since its inauguration, the park has been abandoned."

For her part, Councilor for Public Parks Luisa Giua Marass announced that the necessary funds are being raised "for the expansion and overall redevelopment of the park, with areas for cat colonies and a redesigned dog area, fencing of the park, new trees, benches, canopies, and drinking fountains." Regarding the playground equipment, Council member Zedda maintains: "They are monitored for safety."
