Cagliari is tinged with rainbow: crowd at the Music Park for Pride 2024
Floats, music and colors for LGBT pride: "Everyone must have the same rights, there are no people who are different from others"Sardinia Pride 2024 confirms itself as a great success: a hymn to love in all its forms manifested by over 25 thousand people who invaded Cagliari with music and the cry of "we are human".
Today is not only a day of celebration, but above all of reflection and civil commitment, which aims to shine the spotlight on "dehumanization", a practice of marginalization and stigmatization that "underlines the importance of reflecting and acting against these processes". Six floats flamboyant and super animated lead the parade which started from the Parco della Musica where the celebration of life and freedom began. Also on the first ARC float were the president of the Region, Alessandra Todde, and the mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda.
The rainbow flags wave proudly, flanked by the Quattro Mori revisited with colored bandanas, symbols of CGIL, UIL, student associations and political parties. But even that of Palestine, a giant bursts into the parade. The memory of Michela Murgia cannot be missed, "a true international feminist", says Riccardo Sanna who proudly carries a banner with the face of the writer from Cabras.
The parade is a riot of garlands, colored headbands, soap bubbles and joy, but the heart of Pride is rights and freedom. Banners and messages perfectly embody the spirit of Sardinia Pride 2024: a call to equality and freedom for all. The colorful snake crossed via Bacaredda, via Manzoni, piazza San Benedetto and now from piazza Garibaldi, amidst the applause of those present, it heads towards via Sonnino and via Dante. Then we return to the Pride Village of the Parco della Musica where the party continues.
