Neapolitan scammer traveling to Sardinia who, by deceiving an elderly woman from Cagliari, thought she had pulled off the coup of her life. But he had not reckoned with the police.
The young woman was arrested as soon as she disembarked from the ferry in the Neapolitan port following rapid investigations by the Carabinieri of Cagliari and Naples.
The technique used to carry out the scam was that of the fake policeman: a phone call to the 94-year-old to whom the girl had made believe that her niece had been arrested and that it was necessary to pay a substantial bail. And the grandmother didn't think twice: "I would do anything for my granddaughter," she replied. And he handed over everything he had to a woman who showed up at his house.
2 thousand euros in cash and jewels that have belonged to the family for generations for a total value that exceeds 300 thousand euros.
In a few minutes, the soldiers of the Cagliari company examined the images of the video surveillance systems of the house and then combed through the videos of the local embarkation terminal of the port. The intuition was right, but the twenty-year-old had just left for Naples.
A quick exchange of information with Neapolitan colleagues and a service was arranged in the port area. When the Cagliari-Naples ferry arrived, the woman was identified among the hundreds of passengers, blocked and searched.
She had with her all the stolen goods which will be returned to her grandmother in the next few days, meanwhile the 20-year-old was transferred to prison in Secondigliano.
