There were moments of great concern this morning at the Santissima Trinità hospital in Cagliari: a young man came dangerously close to the railing on the roof of a pavilion at the hospital on Via Is Mirrionis.
The incident was immediately reported to 112 and a patrol from the company's Carabinieri radiomobile unit intervened.
The soldiers began a conversation with the young man that continued for about 20 minutes while doctors and nurses looked on, hoping for a happy ending.
The Carabinieri managed the situation with great professionalism, saving the boy, who was then entrusted to the care of hospital staff. Firefighters were also on the scene.
