A decisive acceleration for the future of the former Buoncammino prison. At the end of today's meeting, preparatory to the institutional discussion on the "City Plan," Mayor Massimo Zedda confirmed the turning point for the 15,000-square-meter giant, permanently closed in 2014.

No more locked offices; the building on San Lorenzo hill will be returned to the citizens: "We are moving forward with the shared desire to plan for new functions." Among the possibilities: "The State Archives, spaces for students, reception areas, socio-cultural spaces, and educational activities."

The project, integrated into the City Plan, is now moving quickly toward the next technical meeting. Buoncammino's future holds a strong commitment to the university and young people, but also includes space for memory. The project also includes a new Museum of Memory, to preserve the site's history, as well as a large public plaza in the internal courtyards and kiosks along the external avenue.
