Public administration was his calling . Law, codes, regulations. Legal certainty. Pietro Cadau, who died yesterday at 83 , spent his life in municipal and provincial offices, after graduating in Political Science in Cagliari and earning a master's degree in Local Government Management from Bocconi thirty years later, because "in life you should never stop studying for a single day," he loved to repeat. And so he taught his children and grandchildren.
As a young graduate in the mid-1960s, Cadau toured the small towns of the Province of Cagliari to gain experience as a municipal secretary. Not without first earning another diploma, again from the university in Cagliari, in Administrative Organization.
Then came increasingly important roles, from 1968 onwards, from Iglesias to Cagliari , where he also served as general manager. As general manager, Cadau also led the Sulcis Industrial Consortium , until his last public office a decade ago as extraordinary commissioner of the Province of Cagliari , where he also served as general secretary for a long time. His professional resume includes the presidency of Abbanoa , from 2009 to 2011, the Sardinian water service company, which he also managed as a member of the board of directors. Due to his in-depth knowledge of public administration, Cadau has been a consultant to the ANCI , the Association of Municipalities, and a member of CORAN , the Committee for Negotiating Representation in the Region. He has also been a lecturer at Formez .
Today, February 26th, Cadau's final farewell will be in Decimomannu, where he lived. The funeral will begin at 3:30 PM in the Church of Sant'Antonio, on the street of the same name in the town.
