Easter Monday saw significant disruption at Elmas Airport due to a thick blanket of fog.
The first seven incoming flights of the day (from Turin, Milan Malpensa, Pescara, Bergamo, and Pisa) were diverted to Alghero, before returning to Cagliari with passengers on board. Subsequent flights experienced significant delays.
Even takeoff was impossible: planes departed until 8:55 a.m., with all subsequent flights delayed by at least three hours, with the departure hall at the Mario Mameli Airport packed with passengers waiting to find out their fate.
This morning's problem will inevitably have repercussions throughout the day, not only in Cagliari but also on all the connected airports, with a knock-on effect that will ruin Easter Monday for hundreds of travelers.
