More than €800,000 in fine revenue in just two months. To be precise: €809,454 plus 45 cents. This is how much traffic violations and municipal regulations committed between January 1st and February 28th, 2026, cost the citizens of Cagliari. That's a daily rate of €13,719.
The calculation was made by Maggioli Spa, which maintains the accounts for this sector on behalf of the Municipality. The amounts are subject to change because some people pay within five days and reduce the fine by 30%, while others incur late fees. However, the reports currently state this.
Specifically, local police enforcement activities resulted in € 699,488.26 in fines related to traffic violations. € 40,933.49 were attributable to "administrative violations" in various areas. € 67,212.61 was also allocated to recover the costs of serving documents related to the initial inspections and €1,820.09 for those related to the second inspections.
