A fight between foreigners, perhaps related to drug dealing, has raised tensions in the historic center of Cagliari. According to witnesses, the two had a violent argument in Piazza del Carmine. The object of the dispute: who should have given the "goods" to a customer who had just stopped with his car. The argument degenerated and the Carabinieri arrived on the scene. The two tried to escape but were stopped by the military in Via Sassari: a very tense scene in front of dozens of worried passers-by.
Also witnessing the scene was the president of the Stampace committee, Adolfo Costa: «Only 24 hours ago», he explains, «we had expressed great concern for the increasingly serious episodes. Open-air drug dealing, fights between gangs to secure territory, insults, thefts and damage.
Costa defines the situation as "explosive". The residents and patrons of the historic center, he points out, "are under siege. Prisoners in their own homes. For years we have been reporting numerous criminal episodes with videos and testimonies that highlight the state of the places. But it's not enough: we no longer know what to expect. The cry for help is ever louder".
