Eighteen months without outdoor tables or, alternatively, a 25 thousand euro fine.
The lawyers of Ninnos and Florio, the two places in Piazza San Domenico in Cagliari that will not be able to have outdoor tables for a year and a half, are already preparing an appeal to the TAR. Both businesses received suspension of the concession of public land from the Municipality, after two sanctions received this year because the music, from inside the venue, would also have been the background music for customers sitting outdoors.
The sanction appears punitive, but is provided for by a regulation approved by the Council.
And if they all agree on one point, namely that the rules must be respected, on the extent of the "punishment" that is applied, restaurateurs, residents, trade associations and municipal administrations go in no particular order.
There are those who believe that it is "an excessive punishment" and those who instead think it is "a decision that finally settles a point on the problem of the wild table which, now, can pave the way for the application of sanctions in all Municipalities" .
In the meantime, the operators are preparing an appeal to the TAR, and there are those who point out: "This also puts tourism at risk."
